Happy New Year!

Exactly my resolution!

©2006 Universal Press Syndicate

The skies around us are exploding with the colours of fireworks. We got some rockets to send up this year, very colourful ones I believe. We are off to try them. It was a little hard to buy more than these, since every firework name was in Deutsch and we couldn't quite make out if something was a sparkler as compared to a more noisy firework and so on. The pictures in front were not particularly helpful, and we seriously did not want a noisy new year's eve. Therefore the rockets, the easiest to discern, no mistaking them.

I also made a yummy lemon torte today, it was a new recipe, and it turned out so tasty... it was so easy too, the lemon taste was perfectly zesty, just the way we like it. So with tummies happy and glasses of Sekt in our hands, we feel perfectly able to face the cold night out to light our fireworks along with all kids downstairs.

Happy New year to all of you. May the New Year bring you Joy, Cheer and all things Merry! And may it be filled with more Kindness and Generosity in the world. Everyone needs it. Wish you all the very best.

Go Slowly

In July 2003 when I came to know that I would be in Paris for my masters I was very happy and had written a mail to Dr Jaganathan who was guiding our activities in the Affordable Solutions Lab at KReSIT, IIT Bombay. As a response I received this small poem from him that he considered one of his favorites. Well I am out of touch with him and perhaps will not be easy to get him but I have these words that work up in my mind at the beginning of any major change I attempt in life.

------
Go Slowly

If you want your dream to be,
Take your time, go slowly.
Do few things but do them well,
Heartfelt work grows purely.

Day by day, stone by stone,
Build your secrets slowly.
Day by day, you'll grow too.
You'll know heaven's glory.

If you want to live life free,
Take your time, go slowly.
Do few things but do them well,
Heartfelt joys are holy.

by Donovan Leitch, sung by the
friends of Francis of Assisi in the movie
"Brother Sun, Sister Moon"
