There is so much going on everyday that its hard to find time to sit on a computer at leisure, or even to think about writing what I have been composing in my mind for several days. Its hard to string words together all of a sudden. So, we are going to move again, this time to Basel in Switzerland. If someone had paid me an enormous amount of money last year to even think of doing my postdoc in S. I'd have simply rejected the offer, but now that I have settled in this lab for almost the past one year, formed an idea of a project and so on, its just not that easy to walk out. In fact I can't. There is a bond of loyalty, and also of a fascination to learn a new technique in a new system. Too many people have told me that S. is a boring country, not too open to foreigners unless you bring them money to put in their vaulted banks, but right now I am thinking of giving them a fair chance of either charming me or losing me forever. Its all upto them! But I have to say that the administration handling the paperwork is frighteningly efficient compared to normal european standards, which does give one some hope :)

The past week or so has swept by. And the from the end of next week and more we will be in Montreal, meeting old friends and freezing in the cold. Not the best season to visit, but considering that K was in Siberia last year at this time, I'd just say we are maintaining a tradition.

Meanwhile, we have this new craze of making all kinds of cocktails at home. Bottles jostle against one another while we exercise our imaginations of how to make a standard cocktail even more complex (and sometimes undrinkable), but on the whole I'd say we are charting quite a novel path of newer concoctions, as a result of which I am writing with a somewhat fuzzy brain and a strong urge to sleep pretty early tonight. And now that I think of it I am also feeling rather hungry. I had in mind to post a few songs on the blog from my favorites but that will have to wait I guess. Till next time.

Hmm Switzerland. Sounds like a fun move! Now you can find out why they stopped making Double Decker.its quite a tragic event for a 10 year old.
